Workshops

GROUNDED stands for the transition to a sustainable world. This goal is within our reach if we work on it all together. Through workshops and activities we want to tickle your mind, and engage you with new perspectives and interesting facts. Touch, smell, taste, hear and sight. All of it will be presented throughout the day and night.Information through all the senses. Experience it. Pause for a moment..And truly come to your own senses.

Hoop Dance Improv

Endlessly circling, spinning, your body and mind in a state of flow, a system in motion – We would like to share the enjoyment of dance improvisation and flow arts.

In this workshop, you will learn some basic hula hoop tricks and then have some time to explore these movements. No prerequisites are required for this workshop. The focus lies on developing your own flow by experimenting with planes and contact points on the body. Funny things may happen, it‘s not about perfection or choreography, it‘s about letting go and being curious, exploring where the interaction between your body and the hoop will take you.

Some hoops will be provided, but if you happen to have a hoop at home or if you are able to borrow one, you are warmly encouraged to bring it.

Grounding Hatha Yoga

Are you interested in exploring your own inner system and travel deeper into the body-mind experience? Grounding Hatha Yoga offers you exactly that!

You are welcomed to experience how your motions affect your inner space. In a grounding manner, we will practice a variety of asana’s (poses) and every asana will have a different effect on your experience. Some motions might create mental or physical tension while others will create expansion. The effect of each asana is different for every unique individual, and during the class you’ll have enough time to ground yourself within your own experience. Afterwards you’ll be sure to move from a place of connection.  Level: intermediate – suitable for everyone that has practised yoga at least once.

Reclaiming Sexuality

(A talk with Carole, followed by an embodied experience, and space for questions!)
As human beings, connecting with our sexuality is not only a matter of pleasure, it's a matter of knowing ourselves deeply and of feeling ourselves whole.
Indeed, being in touch with that powerful creative energy is key to hearing our intuition and inner wisdom, as well as experiencing a natural sense of confidence and aliveness in our life.
Sounds great? It is! However, systematic repression and taboos have gotten in the way of women accessing their full potential as sexual beings: it's time to reclaim this wonderful part of ourselves.
In this workshop, we'll talk about the benefits of being in touch with your sexual energy, and we’ll see how to cultivate it so we can experience it as a source of vitality, creativity, confidence…and pleasure of course!

This workshop is FLINTA* only.
(FLINTA*: female identifying, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, agender, *other marginsalised gender identities and sexualities)

Nonverbal Speed-Dating

You probably heard the word consent before, but what does it mean in your daily life?

In this interactive workshop, we approach issues surrounding boundaries, communication and consent through activities and conversations.

Open to everyone, regardless of your experience, sexuality, gender, age etc.!

A Mindful Moment with Alex

Thinking of our minds as a crisscrossing web of patterns of thought, we are often unaware of how these mental habits, for better and worse, become our defaults for understanding and relating with the world around us. This session will consist of a semi-guided meditation, using breathwork and a visualization to begin questioning these assumptions. Seeing our mind as a big field of snow, we will set about noticing the default tracks we are used to taking. Asking how we want to connect with ourselves and the world around us, we will allow the fresh snow to fall. I would like to invite you to this mindful moment, practicing the kind of care, gratitude and love part of a more beautiful world.

Acroyoga Workshop

Acroyoga is about connection, communication, playfulness, flow and feeling your own strength in your body.
With the right technique and a supportive base as your partner, we will let you fly high. We are Ada and Otto, both passionate about the flow and magic that can happen when you give trust to your partner while doing Acroyoga. And we would like to share this passion and our skills at the upcoming Festival. So join us for a round of playfulness and connection.
Acroyoga is always done in pairs. One who is the base and one who is the flyer. If you don’t know what that means yet... don’t worry... it will become clear at our workshop. Acroyoga is also about Safety. So while you and your partner are trying the craziest tricks you will be supported by one or 2 spotters that help you to go safely through the flow.
After this workshop, we will hopefully have shown you that you are capable of more than you think.

Ecstatic Dance

A moment to let go of everything and just be free. We can all use that every now and then, right? During this ecstatic dance workshop you'll discover yourself and the other in a free 'conscious' form of dance. Feel the energy, the music, your feelings, creativity and most of all enjoyment in every bone of your body. A moment to let go of everything, and shift from using your head to using your body. We will see you there.

Plastic Waste Art

Collect Grounded’s plastic waste. Communicate your ideas. Create something extraordinary!

Plastic waste has become a global, uncontrollable issue and the current system that we live in makes it difficult to find sustainable alternatives. You might ask, how does making art out of plastic waste change our perceptions? By thinking about our plastic waste through creative methods, we can come up with new bottom-up solutions. In this workshop, we invite you to think about how we can turn the festival’s trash into something beautiful and valuable. Maybe a symbol of resistance or an invitation to consume less. Let's get those creative juices flowing!

Everyday Resistance

From everyday resistance to social change.
In this workshop, conflict researcher and journalist Laurie Treffers will give a short presentation on the topic that fascinates her the most: how women practice everyday resistance amidst violent conflict, in particular in the Middle East and North Africa.

The second part of the workshop will focus on how you practice everyday resistance against systems of oppression, from patriarchy and racism to homophobia and ableism.

By exchanging stories, Laurie hopes to give you a new lens through which we can look at resistance - and perhaps at mundane actions in our everyday lives.

7 Billion Presidents

7 Billion Presidents - a grassroots movement on a mission to build a new inclusive society with a stable climate. Why continue competing with each other to get jobs that create wealth for shareholders when we can also collaborate and build a better future for all? We are redefining all power structures and giving power back to the people.

Join the interactive dialogue with the people from 7Billion Presidents about an economic model without shareholders and where the profit goes back to the community.

Clothing Swap

why not save money and the earth by swapping your no longer used clothing for clothing you will use?! Just bring your used items to swap and welcome new second-hand and vintage clothes into your life. This is an amazing way to play with style and clothes, meet people, save money, and build consciousness around sustainable living! Instead of throwing away or selling, we offer a great way to clear out unwanted items, find and explore new pieces, and avoid waste being sent to landfills!

By donating your clothes you make them accessible to lots of people and keeping them in circulation for longer helps the world around you. So, clothing swaps are not only a good way to refill your wardrobe, but also an act of environmentalism and care! How does a clothing swap work? When you have clothes to donate please first drop them at the sorting table. Avoid donating underwear, electronic appliances, or soiled clothing (heavily stained, torn, generally unwearable) as we will not be accepting those. The leftover items will be donated to charity.

Soul meets Soil

A dialogue garden where unexpected encounters between curious minds and experts take place on the intersection of soil and soul.

Experiential dance and bass dreaming session

As we emerge from two years of life deep in the pandemic, it's a good moment to consider where we are in this moment, what we need, and how we can seed more beauty, interdependence, and care in our communities. In seeking to create this kind of change, we can learn a great deal from plants and ecosystems. We are all part of ecosystems, made up of humans and non-humans kind. The question is whether we choose to practice intimacy with and between the world around us. In this 2 hour session, participants will explore what generative futures they wish to contribute to or grow within the context of communities. Using movement, dance, somatics, and partner exercises this session will provide a container to explore how we can use our agency to support small ripples of change, beauty, or connection on a local level. The movement section will be accompanied by a ritual bass mix, lovingly crafted by Afro Oankali, Camille's DJ moniker.

Please come to the session wearing clothing you feel comfortable moving in, and bring a water bottle and notebook.

Crossing the Line

Have you ever thought of all the different ways in which your identity - how it is felt by you and/or perceived by others - influences your place in society? Or how it has helped or hindered you in the course of your life? If these questions make you curious, then join Svenja and Maggie in their workshop on (privilege reflection?) where they will approach these questions through activities and discussions. Warning: there will probably be no (clear) answers afterwards, but many more questions to further reflect on;)

Stress-Free Haircuts

Mathew from the Haircut Sessions offers 'stress-free' haircuts for 30 euro's. Giving your hair a mighty flow on the go. Mathew is seen offering his services at festivals in his van or simply by walking with a barber chair over the terrain.

Multi-Sensory Food Mosaic

Huge volumes of food is wasted every day, and with the simple toss into the trash, the beauty, history, and soul of each living plant is reduce to ‘waste’. What is going on here? What does this indicate about our relationship to nature? What even is this nature we might speak of? In what way do we feel connected to the living world around us, and how could we re-orient ourselves with the living, the non-human world around us? Finally, how do we do this with gratitude, reciprocity, and care? This workshop seeks to engage with these questions in the form of an interactive, multi-sensory food mosaic. We will allow the worlds of food, waste, consumption, and art to become playful and entangled. Using dried fruit and vegetables that have been saved through dumpster diving, we will let the assortment of colors, textures, and smells guide our senses in the co-creation of a food mosaic.

Animal Flow

Animal Flow is a ground-based movement inspired by yoga, capoeira, modern dance, parkour, martial art and much more. It is a lot of fun and challenging at the same time, a great practice for all and especially a very interesting and unique activity.
